Maher is a multidisciplinary designer and creative lead of Scuba, a design studio based in Southern California. With a practice that moves between brand identity, space, and storytelling, Delaney brings a nostalgic sensibility to the contemporary arenas in which she works. She established Scuba as a way to unify her varying creative portfolio and offerings, ranging from large-scale campaigns in tech and advertising to hands-on collaborations with small businesses, founders, and mission-driven teams.
Delaney’s approach is the product of creative lineage and environment. She was raised by an interior designer who championed enriching design and clean industry standards, proudly descends from the founder of one of Chicago’s acclaimed type and signage shops, and shares creative kinship with a sister who is a wordsmith and fellow creative director, as well as a partner who brings bold design energy to the golf industry. With a background in art history and an affinity for photography, she’s drawn to objects and ideas with depth - those that carry story, texture, and a sense of time.
She has proudly spent years freelancing amongst top agencies and companies, establishing tools of congeniality and humility. Now, through her studio, she brings that same level of strategic thinking and executional rigor to every project, but with a bespoke touch. She believes in collaboration over ego, keeping things silly and making work that reverberates through the creative bone.
